Winters, Ashley

Hello My Name Is...

Ashley Winters

Ashley Winters began her teaching career in 2006 after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Studies K-8 from Plymouth State University. She taught for five years in the Manchester, NH School District, and during this time earned her certification as a Reading Recovery trained teacher. Later she began attending classes again with PSU, but this time for a Master’s degree as a Reading and Writing Specialist K-12. Ashley followed her love for the outdoors and the North Country, which lead her to a classroom teaching position at the Whitefield Elementary School in 2011. Ashley enjoys making connections with the students not only in the classroom but outside of the classroom as well. She volunteers for events often, coached three seasons of Middle School Spirit Squad, and currently organizes and leads the Whitefield Wilderness Explorers, which is the hiking club at WES for fifth through eighth grade students. When she’s not teaching she can be found participating in a number of outdoor activities such as skiing and hiking, traveling the world, spending time with family, or hanging with her three dogs.
