As you know, on Tuesday night the School Board approved a plan to restart instruction. I encourage you to read Dr. Anastasia's recent email or review the plan on the district's web page.

I would like to give you a few reminders and updates as to what we have done so far to make the plan a reality.

First, we have identified the organizational and logistical details and protocols that need to be designed and finalized in the next few weeks. Our building's leadership team will be meeting Monday to begin resolving these.

We have reconfigured the building's floor plan and classroom placements in order to align with the proposed days that grades will be in the building. This includes identification of all extraneous furniture and equipment that takes up valuable floor space that must be used by student seating. We have also established a storage plan to protect those items while they are not being used. In addition the order for air purifiers is being finalized.

Lastly, we are generating the list of items students will need for back to school. The Learner's Kit will be forwarded to you shortly from each grade level.

Next we will be confirming the weekly grade level schedule, daily class schedules, arrival, departure, lunch and recess protocols and Chromebook hand off.

In the most immediate we need our families to complete the online survey with your preference for hybrid or 100% online instruction. The survey link has been emailed to you and you can find it in the district's web site. Responses in the next few days would be very helpful in our immediate planning.

In the next few weeks we ask that you continue to teach and reinforce your student in the universal precautions that help reduce the chance of all germ and virus spread. Wearing a properly fitted and comfortable mask, practicing social distancing and hand washing now will help students focus on learning once we return. As a community, I am confident that we can increase the chances of success with these precautions.

Lastly, I want to thank you for your patience and participation in the process. We are not there yet, so please continue to hang in with us and don't hesitate to reach out with questions. I will be in frequent contact with updates and details as they become finalized.

Sincerely,

Mr. Cronin, WES Principal
