WES Update - Thursday, October 15, 2020

Progress reports will be emailed tomorrow, Friday October 16th.  Grades K-6 will provide more of a narrative report, while grades seven and eight will have a numerical reflection of the first half of the quarter.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.

Beginning on Monday, October 19th WES students in grades four through eight will be taking the State Interim assessments in Reading, Math and Writing.  These are computer-based, 30 minute assessments that will be administered in-person for our Hybrid Model students and remotely for our 100% Online students.  For all of our students it is important that they complete the tests without any assistance so that we can get an accurate picture of what holes might exist from last school year.

We will be providing a virtual open house opportunity for families to see and hear about the classroom and academic topics.  Teachers will be providing you with a link to a video or slide show presentation that will be available starting Monday October 26th.

We are working on schedule Picture Days with LifeTouch and will follow up with details soon.

We are still accepting Free & Reduced Meal applications.  This is important data to help support our federal grants, most especially for Title I supports.

Lastly a reminder that we have an Early Release Day on Friday the 30th.  Parent pick ups will begin at 11:30 am and buses will board at 12:00 noon.

Thank you and have a great evening
